Top 50 Apps

Asia’s Top 50 apps contest started with the aim of discovering and shining the spotlight on popular web and mobile applications from Asia. Voting for this contest took place from July 22 to Aug 31.

Thousands of users and readers voted and commented on their favorite app. When we closed polling on Aug 31, we had received over 100 nominations from 10 countries.

Voters selected their favorite apps and here’s the list of Top 50 apps.

Asia’s Top 50 Apps

While the Top 50 poll was a test of popularity, the next stage was to select the top 10 apps from the list based on merit. The top 10 apps were selected by our internal panel of judges including Benjamin Soh from SingTel, Jupe Tan from Plug and Play Tech Centre and Jeffrey Paine from Battle Ventures.

The top 10 apps received:

- Three months rent-free stay at Plug and Play Tech Centre in Silicon Valley

- Access to a deal room session to pitch their products directly to the region’s top telcos under the SingTel umbrella.

- Get your app in front of 1,500 tech and mobile industry movers and shakers at Accelerate 2010 conference.
