4 key people to look out for at DEMO Asia 2012
DEMO Asia released a blog post last week listing the event’s speakers, sages and alumni in the build up to the event next week. For e27, we are keeping an eye out for these three people at DEMO. Here’s why.
Adeo Ressi, CEO at Founders Institute
The man needs no introductions. Being the CEO of Founders Institute and founding member of TheFunded.com, an online community of over 17,000 CEOs, founders and entrepreneurs, Adeo will bring with him the experience and knowledge that the startup community require. Adeo has founded eight startups, including Founders Institute, where four of his companies have been acquired and three are still running. Looking forward to hear him share at DEMO and hopefully catch some tips on business management and strategic planning. e27 is using Adeo’s one-sentence pitch format for Echelon 2012 Startup Marketplace submissions.
Rebeca Hwang, co-founder at YouNoodle
Rebeca is listed as one of the DEMO sages. This is not the first time that Rebecca has been involved in the Asian tech scene. The San Francisco-based entrepreneur had a big hand in helping organize last year’s Silicon Valley Comes to Malaysia, a Malaysian effort with the local government which hopes to spur entrepreneurship among the youths. Rebeca has experienced mentoring startups and also sitting on the judging panel of numerous competitions.
Vincent ”Vinnie” Lauria, Golden Gate Ventures
Vinnie was the co-founder of Lefora, a WordPress for forums service, which was acquired CrowdGather in 2010. He has since participated in an MDA supported mentorship program last year to help provide knowledge to local startups. This year, Vinnie made the move to be based in Singapore permanently and is working on setting up Golden Gate Ventures, a Singapore-based accelerator focused on Southeast Asian startups, together with Lefora co-founder and i/o Ventures managing partner Paul Bragiel and Founders Institute Singapore’s director Jeffrey Paine.
Erwan Macé, Developer Relations at Google Southeast Asia
Erwan joined Google last year and is in charge of developer relations in Southeast Asia. Prior to joining the Internet giant, Erwan was involved in a startup of his own, Bitsmedia, and have worked with other startups such as Soundbuzz and Vivendi Mobile Entertainment. Erwan has worked in France, Germany, Singapore, Indonesia and speaks French, English and Malay-Indonesian as a result.
DEMO attendee tickets are still available. Do use this promo code ETS59S for e27 readers when making your purchase. The rest of DEMO Asia’s speakers and sages are listed below. Check out the DEMO blog post on their profiles here.
