Noticed that cute guy/girl on the friends list of one of your Facebook friend and want to say hello, without feeling awkward? Well here’s a fun Facebook app for you. Vinod, the CEO of Catapult Ventures recently launched Little Black Book, a Facebook app that allows you to get your friend to introduce you to someone you might want to get to know, as a side project.

So what is the story behind Little Black Book? According to Vinod, he feels that there’s a big problem with current dating apps and services out there which tries to match you to new random people.

“When I was single, I found myself wanting to expand my social circle. Online dating doesn’t really appeal to me because it’s so fake and random. I’d rather get to know more friends of friends. Everytime I asked a friend for an intro to single girls, they would ask me to have a look at their Facebook friends list to see if there was anyone I was interested in  (yes I have nice friends). But the problem is, you have to sort through thousand of friends in your friend’s friend list.”

Recognizing the problem of filtering guys from the girls, the single from the unavailable, the Little Black Book was created to help other people discover and explore their second degree friends a lot easier. So essentially, the app allows you to search and filter people by gender and relationship status, amongst other super fun things which I will leave it to you to explore for yourself. Trust me, it’s fun. The app is purely created for entertainment and not for profit purposes so do check it out.

Of course as with most apps, for the app to be really effective, you will need to invite your friends so that you can view their list of friends.
