Red Herring awards are arguably the most prestigious conferment to a technology startup. These awards are bestowed upon 100 startups from around the world based on both quantitative and qualitative criteria such as financial performance, technology innovation, quality of management, execution of strategy and integration into their ecosystem. Past winners of this award include YouTube, Yahoo, Skype etc. Last year, 31 Asian Startups were among the recipients of Red Herring Global 100 Award namely 2c2p, Voicetap and Pinstorm among other.

Red Herring has announced its official call for nominations for Red Herring 100 Asia. The winners will be celebrated at the Red Herring 100 event in August 2010 in Hong Kong. Submissions for the event will be accepted through July 15, 2010. Venture capitalists and entrepreneurs can submit their candidates for consideration by visiting: Herring 100 Asia

The winning 100 companies will be invited to present and showcase at the Red Herring Asia forum in August before an exclusive audience of C-level entrepreneurs, corporate strategists, and over 50 venture capital funds in addition to being featured in a special edition of Red Herring magazine. The event will also include keynote addresses and panel discussions lead by industry leaders and technology insiders.
