2C2P Wins Global Mobile Innovation Conference 2010 Innovation Show in Beijing
2C2P, a Singapore-based payment service provider and an exhibitor at our recent echelon 2010, was declared the winner of the Global Mobile Internet Conference 2010 Innovation Show in Beijing. The company beat 19 other finalists from Asia, Europe and the US. This is not the first of such awards lining 2C2P’s trophy cabinet. Having won the 2009 Nokia Calling All Innovator Awards and the Red Herring Global Top 100 Awards the same year, 2C2P has proven that it has what it takes to be a global innovator in the mobile payment industry.
The panelist judging at the finals of the Innovation Show were made up of respected venture capitalists and angel investors including Dave McClure of Founders Fund, William Bao Bean of Softbank Holdings, Paul Asel and Wiehan Liu of Nokia Growth Partners, Jui Tan of BlueRun Ventures and Harry Man of Matrix Partners. 2C2P showcased their full “2C2P Mobile” product at the show which includes the credit card payment terminal as well as a peer-to-peer money transfer and mobile wallet solution. The product offers a full service B2B, B2C and C2C mobile payment solution for Asia-Pacific.
e27 covered the emergence of 2C2P into the online payment gateway sector. Their entrance into the Singaporean market was faced with the towering threat of some major players such as Paypal, Worldpay and homegrown giant eNETS. Over six months later, 2C2P can be deemed as a respected contender in this tough battlefield and even managed to expand their service offerings to two other ASEAN countries.
The company is the first and only payment company in Thailand to be in compliance with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCIDSS) and certified by VISA, MasterCard and JCB for “Verified by Visa”, “SecureCode” and “J/Secure” products under the 3-D Secure system. 2C2P estimates that 85% of mobile payment users will come from Asia-Pacific by 2012. Already operating in Thailand, Singapore and Cambodia, 2C2P looks to expand its services to Vietnam, Laos, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines by 2011 and then move on Hong Kong, Japan, China and India. By covering the majority of the Asia-Pacific region, 2C2P targets to bring in about US$83 million in revenue by 2014.
