Samsung Launches bada Developer Day Singapore
Editor’s Note: RSVP for the event at this link
Back in early January, developers were getting a sneak peak to some of Samsung’s developer related offering at their Developer Night, held in swanky Zouk. The event was held in conjunction with CES2010 and it provided networking opportunities for mobile developers and Samsung executives. It was also an early opportunity for Samsung to share some details on its newly launched Bada platform, as well as plans on opening an App Store in Singapore. While the technical discussions were kept to a minimum and platform details were still hush hush, developers were keen to find out more about the new platform offerings and its promises. Fortunately, Samsung has not disappointed us, with the launch of the Samsung Developer Day Singapore.
Details of the Event
Date: Friday, May 21st 2010
Time: 10.00am to 6.30pm
Location: Blue Room, The Arts House
RSVP: Register Here ==> http://samsung-dev-day-sg.eventbrite.com/
Highlights of the Event
The main focus of the event will revolve around Bada and the various supporting APIs around it. These include:
Camera Handling and Recording API
Face Recognition and Tracking API
3rd Party SNS Aggregation API
Map, geo-coding service API
Samsung has made extra effort to ensure that developers present at the event will get a chance to deploy the platform on their personal systems and work on sample code at the event itself. Developers will also be exposed to demos that have been specially prepared to highlight key portions of the APIs. While this is a Samsung event, Samsung has taken the proactive approach of reaching out to developers who have built on non-Samsung platforms and getting them to share their experiences on various topics such as monetization.
For those of you unfamiliar with Bada, check out the video below for more details:
