Geeks On a Plane Heading for echelon 2010
Geeks on a plane, a business tour of internationally renowned geeks, entrepreneurs and investors, are hopping on a plane and traveling around Asia to get to know the tech culture and business trends of different countries and this year, they are having a stopover in Singapore. What better way to get to know the web trends, demographics and the culture than to attend, echelon 2010 – A Pan-Asian web technology event.
e27′s signature event last year – unConference’09 saw more than 400 attendees and showcased 30 startups from 10 different countries. unConference also brought together some of the brightest minds, entrepreneurs, investors and web technologists from the region to discuss topics relevant to the startups here. We got to hear great insights from experienced folks, discussions on various business models and also some frank feedbacks on various entrepreneurial initiatives. And this was exactly what we intended for the show – free flow of thoughts and opinions.
Here at e27, we don’t believe in holding just one-off events for startups and tech folks, we believe in enhancing and sustaining the community through various initiatives, media coverage and holding regular meet-up sessions with startup mentors. As is the case with any startup, we are continuously looking at various ways to improve and provide more value to the community, and that’s how echelon began to evolve.
e27 echelon 2010 adheres to the basic principles of unConference and will maintain, if not raise, the sheer excitement on innovation and web technology. The difference is in the scope and the scale of the event.
e27 echelon will be a two day event featuring speakers ranging from experienced entrepreneurs to first timers, from VC’s to angel investors and also technologists from around the region. We will also be showcasing 50 startups from around the region over the two days, and what’s more, we will also be launching 8-10 never before seen startups through this event. You can expect to see a lot more panel discussions, workshops and keynote speeches.
This time around, we have also tied up partnership with GOAP and Founder’s institute. We will be getting stalwart speakers like Dave Mcclure – Co-founder of Startup2Startup, Finance4Founders, to give keynote sessions and other startup founders and industry professionals to be part of the panel discussions in their different domains.
We are glad to announce the launch of our event website which will contain all the details of the event and we will be updating it as and when we receive confirmation from our different partners and speakers. We will also be launching a call for startups soon. So, if you are a startup interested in pitching at echelon 2010, keep a lookout for this space. We will be starting our ticketing soon. So, do bookmark the event page to keep yourself in the loop and also to get our early bird discounts!
Exciting times lay ahead :)
