TenCube Receives Strategic Investment, Expands Market Reach for WaveSecure
TenCube, the star startup behind the award winning anti-theft and security software WaveSecure, just announced a new strategic investment deal with India based One 97 Communications. One 97 is India’s largest and most widely deployed telecom application platform, which reaches a whopping 100% of mobile users in India. One 97′s clientele list shines with top operators from India and Middle East, and it ranks among one of the top and fastest growing technology companies in India. The deal has both a financial and strategic distribution element to it, which makes this a very key partnership for TenCube, which is heavily ramping up its distribution of WaveSecure product.
What’s in it for One 97?
One97 enables telecom networks in becoming the best and most used media to deliver content, information and intelligent transactions to consumers. They have previously worked with telecom operators in providing Value Added Services i.e. music downloads, application discovery, self-care, customer communication, content provisioning, subscription alerts and ring back tones. The key thing about One97 is in its adoption of new generation media and technologies. With this deal, it would allow them an entry into the fast growing mobile applications market, which is a key interest for mobile operators and handset manufacturers. As mentioned by Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Managing Director of One97 Communications, expanding into device applications is the next logical extension from their leadership in cloud based telecom applications and services. This will also allow One97 to start tapping into emerging robust business models via direct download channels such as application stores. Through this deal, One97 will have priority reseller rights for WaveSecure in multiple geographies including India. WaveSecure as a popular Smartphone service, is also an excellent entry strategy for One97’s portfolio of products for developed markets like Europe and North America.
Why is This Important For TenCube?
Clearly this is a big thing for TenCube. Yes there is a financial element to this deal, but strategically, the deal makes a lot more sense from the distribution opportunities provided by One97. As mentioned by Darius, One97 will be able to provide strategic access to key Asian markets that will enable TenCube to take their product and business to the next stage. On top of that, this deal will also provide potential access to markets in Europe and North America, where WaveSecure will add on to One97′s portfolio of products and help with their entry strategy to these markets. This will also help them in transitioning from a startup, to a global business, something One97 can definitely help TenCube with their vast management experience, resources and support infrastructure.
