If you’re looking at the financial turmoil on WallStreet, this is a pretty good contrarian move by Josh Kopelman at First Round Ventures to attract talents leaving WallStreet in troves to his startup companies.
Indeed it is in times like this that bode well for new startups because the smartest best and brightest who had the best training in in the top schools are now available to work outside the financial sector.
In the past few years, the good times at Wall Street has drawn many a young person to that sector as the lure of the $$$ is just so attractive.
But Schumpeter’s “Creative Destruction” has come to bear on WallStreet and it is in this period where we will see a tectonic shift in talent from WallStreet to many other industries.
