Responsibilities
Our backend infrastructure groups off many rules that can accommodate a diverse range of interests and skills. Cataphora’s backend architecture encompasses massive scale data processing and algorithmic work; enterprise level, systems-driven software; groundbreaking, patentable research into natural language processing and machine learning; and much, much more.

Much of our development process is driven by the specific situations of interest of our diverse, demanding clientele. There is no such thing as a “typical day” for a Cataphora software engineer, and more than at almost any other company, college hires have an extraordinary amount of influence and ability to see their specific contributions reflected in the fate of the company and of our clients.

What We Expect You to Bring
• An ability to solve problems under conditions that can be demanding due to time constraints, problem difficulty, and less than complete specification of requirements
• Good working knowledge of C++ and Java (other languages like Python and Perl are a plus)
• Demonstrated interest in any of the following are pluses:
o Information retrieval
o Machine learning
o Distributed systems
o Data mining
o Algorithm analysis
o Enterprise software
o Systems engineering
• Flexibility in approaches used and ability to adapt quickly to an ever-changing landscape
• Most importantly, a belief that there is always a better way

Requirements
Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor’s Degree(Hons) Degree, Master’s Degree or Doctorate (PhD) in any field.
Required skill(s): Java, C++.
Preferred skill(s): Understanding of Machine learning, Information Retrieval, Data Mining.
Ability to speak fluent English
Applicants must be willing to work in Redwood City,California,USA. (Cataphora Inc. pays all costs associated with relocation)
Applicants MUST be Singaporean citizens
Preferably Junior Executives specializing in IT/Computer – Software or equivalent.
