Facebook Developer Garage II: The Finale
Hey hey guys! Thanks to all for coming down to the joint event hosted by Garag3/E27 and the SG PHP User Group. It was an interesting event with a great turnout – with in-depth discussions, innovative facebook applications and much networking.
For those who missed it, here are the much awaited links!
Prior to the event, Bernard Leong’s thoughts and questions for the panel before the event stimulated the minds of the attendees, followed by Andrew Wee’s musings before the panel on monetization. Consisting of 2 other panelists – Kien Lee, a FB app VC, and Leonard Lin from Tyler Projects – it was already promising to be a thought-provoking session.
Covered by our 2 live bloggers on the scene, Chin Yong and Nicole, the whole event kicked off with the panel discussion – Marketing and Monetization of FB Apps: Hype or Gold Mine? Read about it from our 2 bloggers’ points of view here, and here.
Next, the programme broke into 2 tracks.
The Technical Tracks, which were covered by Chin Yong, includes:
- Facebook Apps with .NET & Visual Studio 2008
- Facebook Apps with CakePHP
- How to Piss Off Your Users and Lose Friends
The Applications Demo, which was covered by Nicole, includes:
- Overview of Localized/Regional Facebook Apps
- Demo: “Prosperity Garden” (FB link)
- Demo: “Ant Rush” (FB link)
- Demo: “RecordTV – Lessons From the FrontLine” (FB link)
